Advantages for Students 
- Collaborative. 
- All students can see it. 
- Formative review. 
- Open discussions. 
- Comments saved in real time as posted. 
 
Advantages for Instructors 
- Certain tools can be used for specific purposes. 
- Not all tools need or want to be used all the time. 
- A great way to get students involved. 
- Comments saved in real time as posted. 
 
CONs: 
Disadvantages for Students 
- Unfamiliar to some students. 
- Easily distracted. 
- Lack of privacy /anonymity. 
- Lack of editing options. 
- Much easier to to get off topic 
 
Disadvantages for Instructors 
- Multiple people editing at the same time can cause problems as the last one to save will remove other unsaved edits. 
 
 
<h2>Tips for using the backchannel</h2>
 Become friendly with the administrator who can assist you as necessary. 
Does each room have a faraday cage? - Could be but may be used inappropriately.
